My Life in Communications
The biggest communications challenge I have faced…
I think times of change always present the biggest challenge – balancing how to deliver difficult messages while trying to keep employees engaged and motivated. Also, working with leaders who do not see the value of the work we do. That’s when you need measurement, metrics and good relationship-building skills to establish your position.
My favorite communications memory is…
Receiving the notification that I had become an Accredited Business Communicator. The exam was one of the most intense four and half hours of my life!
The most important communications or professional lesson I’ve learned is…
The value of building good relationships. You never know where your career or your life is going to take you. Having a strong network, both personally and professionally is invaluable. Also, that your work can speak for itself. You don’t have to be the loudest person in the room to make your voice heard.
