August 17: Influencing Your Audience - Crafting Messages with an Impact Webinar
Speaker: Ken O’Quinn, Writing With Clarity
Persuasion is part of everyday life. Advertisers, political speakers, athletic coaches, and fundraisers use it effectively, and it also can be a powerful force in the workplace. Persuasion is about shaping attitudes and motivating people to comply with your request or accept your ideas. Perhaps you need to convince senior management that your idea has merit, or maybe you want to gain employee support for a new program or policy. This webinar will explore tactics that social psychologists have found most effective in overcoming resistance and making ideas compelling and memorable, whether you are writing or speaking.
You’ll leave knowing:
- how to strengthen your image when your audience does not view you as credible;
- how to open a message when the audience opposes your position; and
- how to use three principles of behavioral psychology to influence an audience’s thinking.

About Frank Cowell
Based in Carlsbad, Cowell established the Elevator Marketing Store in 2006 after recognizing that companyies with small marketing departments could not excel with limited budgets and staff. He developed an efficient approach to helping clients reach their marketing potential in a more cost-conscious manner than individuals would find running an in-house marketing department or outsourcing to a larger firm. Elevator knows how to get target audiences to listen and take action right away.
Elevator specializes in a variety of services, from development of collateral materials and websites to direct mailing campaigns that help elevate a company’s branding and marketing. Elevator represents such clients as Alarm Relay, Ballast Point Brewery, BOMA San Diego, Lars Construction, PRSA San Diego, and San Diego Instruments, to name a few.
Elevator’s flagship product is Managed Marketing, a product designed for organizations that don’t have large budgets to hire a marketing staff yet know they need precise strategic leadership for their marketing efforts. With Managed Marketing, Elevator acts as the execution arm of a business and is able to turn client visions into a reality for far less than what one would pay to hire additional marketing employees.
