I hope you had a great holiday season, enjoying its magic, spending time with friends and family, indulging in laughter, love and sweets and reflecting on the past year. Along with the reflection and fresh start to a new year, comes a promise to self improve or accomplish something awesome over the next 12 months—also known as resolutions.
One way to self-improve this year and keep at the forefront of the communication profession is to attend IABC-San Diego events. Join us at our first event of the year next Wednesday, Jan. 20, titled “So you want to be a thought leader?” Learn to brand yourself as an industry expert to increase career opportunities. Register today!
Or, join us for a bit of casual networking at our dine-around on Thursday, Feb. 4 at a popular restaurant in Little Italy. Enjoy gourmet vegetarian cuisine, get to know fellow communicators and engage in terrific conversation. Find out more.
Help a fellow coworker check an accomplishment off their list this year by nominating them for the Communicator of the Year (COTY) or Junior COTY award. Do you know a communicator who serves as an outstanding example to others through their quality of work and contributions to the communication position? Nominate them today! The deadline is Feb. 10.
Lastly, keep up the excitement and momentum of the New Year. Save the date for the LinkedIn Workshop Lunch with Raleigh Gerber on Feb. 17 and the Independent Communicators’ Interest Group meeting on Feb. 25.
There are so many events and activities to look forward to this year designed to help you enhance your communication career, and ultimately, self improve. We hope 2016 is your best year yet.
Cheers to new beginnings,
President, IABC San Diego
