Anna Davison, IABC San Diego President

It is hard to believe that my term as IABC/San Diego President is coming to a close; the past year has flown by! I want to personally thank all the members of the 2016-2017 IABC/San Diego Board. The programs, events, and resources IABC/San Diego provides to our communication community are only possible because of our amazing and dedicated board members. Thank you to each of you for the time and energy you put into making our chapter so successful!

As we head into summer, we have an exciting opportunity coming up on July 11, 2017: Table for 10 with IABC Fellow Ned Lunquist. I met Ned at the IABC World Conference in Washington, D.C. this past month, and when he mentioned he was coming to San Diego, I knew we couldn’t miss a chance to have him sit down with members of our local chapter. This intimate dinner experience will be a fabulous opportunity to learn directly from Ned about his experience as an accredited business communicator and IABC Fellow. Ned, a retired U.S. Navy captain, has 33 years of professional public affairs and strategic communications experience. He served as president of IABC/Hampton Roads and IABC/Washington, director of U.S. district 3, and chair of the IABC International Accreditation Council. He was named an IABC Fellow in 2016. Ned has won a Public Relations Society of America Silver Anvil award, three IABC Gold Quill awards, and the IABC Jake Wittmer award for excellence in communications research.  You won’t want to miss this opportunity and there are only 8 spots open to join Ned and I for dinner, so register today!

Planning for next year has already begun, and Kate Griffin, our incoming president for the 2017-2018 board term, will be announcing the full list of new IABC/Board Members next month, so stay tuned! As always, we welcome and encourage your input. If you have any feedback for our chapter or suggestions for IABC events, please reach out to me directly.

Thank you again for making this a great year for IABC/San Diego. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as your chapter president. I hope everyone has a wonderful summer!

Anna Davison
President
IABC/San Diego
