President’s Letter – June 201807 Jun 2018, by IABC/SD News in
As I wrap up my term as President, I want to take a moment to thank all the members and non-members who have invested in their professional development by attending one of our events this year. It’s been so rewarding to make new connections, to hear different perspectives, and to see that the work our board is doing is resonating with many of you.
I’d also like to thank the 2017-18 board members. This team of volunteers has made great efforts to help better service our IABC community, and their hard work has not gone unnoticed. We’ve seen greater engagement in our events, and with our email and social media communications, and we’ve seen memberships and renewals increase.
The value of this association comes not only from the vast resources and tools our members have access to, but the strength of the community we belong to. Time and time again, I hear stories of members helping other members to find jobs or solve problems. It’s invaluable to have the type of connections and support that will last throughout your career.
As we get ready to transition to a new board on July 1, please take a few minutes to vote for our incoming members. Your participation is important to ensure the bylaws pertaining to the board election process are met.
I’m thrilled that we have such a strong team coming in to continue the good work and keep improving the value our chapter delivers. And, if you’re interested in becoming part of this award-winning team, we still have a few board positions open. Visit our website to learn more.
And, don’t forget that internationally-renowned measurement guru Angela Sinickas, ABC is coming to San Diego on June 20 to share her insights into how communicators can better influence business leaders.
Thanks again for being part of this rewarding year, and I’ll look forward to connecting with you at an upcoming event.
Kate Griffin, ABC
President, IABC/San Diego
