07 Mar 2016, by Kylie Munoz in Be Heard Blog, IABC/SD News

There are JUST A FEW DAYS LEFT to nominate a fellow colleague for the Communicator of the Year (COTY) or Junior COTY award. Sarab B Prez Photo

The COTY and Junior COTY awards recognize two greater San Diego area-based leaders each year who demonstrate strategic excellence in communication. If you know a fellow IABC member in the Greater San Diego Area who is a leader in the communication profession or a young professional who is already doing amazing work, nominate them today! You can even nominate yourself!

Join us for breakfast at the San Diego International Airport Wednesday, March 16. You’ll hear from TSA Spokesperson Nico Melendez and Rebecca Bloomfield, senior public relations specialist at the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, on how their two agencies work together to communicate to the public. Then take an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour of the San Diego International Airport to learn more about the inner workings of nation’s busiest single-runway commercial airport. Register today!

We are starting to recruit board members for the 2016-2017 IABC/San Diego board term that starts in June. If you are interested in getting more out of your membership by boosting your public profile, increasing your networking opportunities, enhancing your career or making a difference, I highly encourage you to volunteer for one of our board positions. Not only is the experience incredibly rewarding, but it provides a platform to make deeper professional connections and further engage with your communication career. If you are interested or would like more information, please email me at sbilyeuiabc@gmail.com.

Lastly, if you would like to present at one of our professional development events or mixers, or if there is a topic that you would like to learn more about, I’d like to hear more! Email me anytime at sbilyeuiabc@gmail.com.

I hope to hear from you, or see you, soon!

Sarah Bilyeu
President, IABC/San Diego
