President’s Letter – October 2018

25 Oct 2018, by Kathleen Park in IABC/SD News

It’s autumn in San Diego. And while our landscapes may not feature a postcard-worthy panoply of vibrant-hued foliage, we in the Craft Beer Capital of America can take pride in one thing: As the days get shorter, our brews get more interesting.

So come celebrate fall with us at the award-winning AleSmith Brewery on November 14 for our annual Brewhaha! event, featuring beer tasting, delicious appetizers and a behind-the-scenes tour by AleSmith Brewery Ambassador Chris Leguizamon.

From its popular Anvil ESB (a deep amber, toasty, British-style pub ale), to its Barrel-Aged Speedway Stout (with notes of oak, vanilla, bourbon, chocolate and coffee), AleSmith offers a delightful range of unique, “hand-forged” brews for those who really want to savor their beer.

And as this event takes place during the month of Thanksgiving, we’re showing our gratitude to our members by offering a low ticket price to active IABC/SD members.

In-person events like Brewhaha! are a fun way to build your professional network in a relaxed setting, and we’re sure you’ll leave with new contacts.

Another way to stay in-the-know and get better connected within the local communications community is to make sure you’ve joined IABC/SD’s various social media: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.

Speaking of which … #MemberMonday.

Have you taken on a new position or interesting challenge lately? Won an award or reached a significant milestone? Or, like our VP of Administration Mark Carpowich, crushed the competition on a popular, long-running TV game show? Please let us know! Our Marketing & Social Media team – Erica Nettles and Brandee Beiriger – recently launched #MemberMonday to highlight our members’ accomplishments and accolades. Be sure to check it out!

Finally, we’re excited to share that we have a Platinum Partner, Cason Lane Strategic Communications, whose generous financial support over the next year will allow us to continue providing quality professional-development and networking events to expand your impact and enhance your career. Thank you, Cason!

Wishing you a bright and beautiful autumn!
