Professional Development Highlights: Data-Driven Online Marketing Integration for Growing Business

I know it’s a jungle out there in the world of online marketing, but I never thought it was like combat. During his IABC professional development seminar on Nov. 14, Brent Gleeson, a U.S. Navy SEAL veteran and Internet marketing entrepreneur, used the analogy of preparing with his platoon for a mission. The intense prep period was filled with constantly changing data, detailed analytics and physical training. A dynamic environment to say the least, much like – yep, you guessed it – the fast-paced nature of today’s digital marketing.

Gleeson, the co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer at Internet Marketing Inc. (IMI), was joined by three experts from his agency to discuss how analytics help you stay on top of your digital marketing strategy. The interactive session emphasized the importance of digital integration of all your marketing channels, including social media, search engine optimization, content marketing and analytics. By understanding their interwoven relationships, you can better leverage these tools.

I’ve been fortunate enough to attend several of the professional development luncheons hosted by IABC-San Diego, and – as with this one – I walk away with a new understanding of an aspect of my field.
