A “Taste” of IABC

05 Oct 2012, by IABC Webmaster in Be Heard Blog, IABC/SD News

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the course of my career, it’s that having a strong network is key.  Not only do you have a collective resource to share ideas with and learn from, having connections across the industry might also lead you to a new career or development opportunity.

At IABC, we hope to help you build those connections, and what better way to do it than over a delicious meal.

Our bi-annual Dine Around events are an informal evening of networking at some of San Diego’s best restaurants. With great food, great company and great conversation, it’s an opportunity not to be missed, and for me, evenings like this encapsulate what makes IABC special.

I recently co-hosted a dinner with past president Jennifer Nance at Cucina Urbana. We were joined by a mixture of members and (hopefully) future members with discussion topics ranging from career challenges and work projects, to healthcare reform and even Project Runway!

The small group setting meant we all got to learn about each other, and I hope we were able to share a taste of what IABC is about.

I know I ended my evening not only with a few extra calories; but also with some great additions to my network.
