November is here and with it comes the opportunity to reflect upon the past year and give thanks.
While we didn’t quite return to the “normalcy” so many of us crave, there is still so much to be grateful for.
I’d like to start by recognizing our IABC San Diego Board for the tremendous amount of passion and effort they have brought to our organization. I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside this spirited group of leaders and I am inspired by the future of our chapter.
We are lucky to live in San Diego and last month, we welcomed leaders from across IABC’s Pacific Plains Region to our beautiful city for the region’s annual leadership conference. The two-day in-person event provided collaboration, thought leadership and professional development, along with the opportunity to hear from esteemed speakers from the Port of San Diego about the future of our “blue economy.”
San Diego is also home to many military personnel and their families and as we approach Veterans Day, we are grateful for all those who serve to protect our freedoms. Please join us virtually on Thursday, November 18 to hear from Lieutenant Commander, and IABC member, Julie Holland about her experiences leading public affairs and communications for the U.S. Navy.
As we head into the final months of 2021, I am grateful for all we have accomplished and for the opportunities that lie ahead. Thank you for your membership and continued dedication.
