IABC San Diego Volunteers Get Media Support

07 Apr 2010, by Kate Hardman, ABC in IABC/SD News

IABC/San Diego’s social responsibility team helps nonprofit organizations get featured by the local media. Thanks to Aaron Hirschorn and Cathleen Wolf, ABC, San Diego Social Venture Partners was interviewed on XETV San Diego 6 in the Morning.

This year, San Diego Social Venture Partners (SDSVP) chose to invest in two nonprofits in the education sector — Reality Changers and Audeo Charter School. Both organizations will receive $25,000 per year for three years plus non-monetary support in the form of expertise valued at $600,000 per organization. In this video segment, San Diego’s CW6 Morning News interviewed SDSVP Partner Ray Ellis, Reality Changers Founder Chris Yanov and graduating senior Michael Gaulden.

Chapter members Celia Bloom, Karen Pearson and Sara Napoli are also involved with IABC’s social responsibility efforts, especially to support the Step Up San Diego collaborative of corporate, foundation, education and nonprofit leaders. Step Up San Diego is developed by Parker Pike and UCSD Extension’s Responsible Enterprise Forum.
