The CMAs honor the leadership and management skills, creativity and teamwork of chapters worldwide. Awards are presented to small, medium and large chapters, respectively, for success in areas such as branding, membership and professional development. IABC/San Diego won its three awards in the medium-sized chapter division.
“We are honored to have been recognized among so many other great IABC chapters,” says Kate Hardman, president, IABC/San Diego. “The efforts of our board members are paying off, and these awards are a great acknowledgement that we are meeting our members’ expectations as a professional organization.”
IABC/San Diego aims to provide communicators with broad exposure to ideas and best practices from across communication disciplines through a variety of initiatives. These award-winning efforts include establishing a student chapter at the University of San Diego; providing professional development, career guidance and networking opportunities and redesigning the IABC/San Diego website and newsletter.
The diverse members of the IABC/San Diego board hold positions in a variety of communication disciplines, such as employee communications, public relations and social media. Through their knowledge and expertise, they develop programs that address the needs of San Diego communicators.
