My Life in Communications
The biggest communications challenge I have faced…
Writing about myself. Give me a new piece of technology, financial policy or community event, and I’ll present you with a news release, executive talking points, social media content, marketing collateral, etc. Ask me to write about myself, and I got nothing.
My favorite communications memory is…
There are so many, but they all have a common thread. They all involve the communication mentors and colleagues that have helped shape and develop my professional growth, and, of course, the laughs we’ve shared along the way.
The most important communications or professional lesson I’ve learned is…
Focus on the end result. Doing so involves flexibility, adaptability, and an overall good attitude.
Resources that I really find useful and recommend to other communicators are…
The Associated Press Stylebook. Where my laptop goes, it goes.
The most valuable thing about my membership with IABC is…
The ability to connect me with other communicators, both personally and professionally. I not only found my current position through the networking opportunities afforded me by IABC/San Diego, but I’ve also developed some great friendships.
You should know this about me…
I think a little kindness goes a long way.
