Commissioned in the Navy over 14 years ago, Julie Holland started her career as a Surface Warfare Officer, entailing ship driving and warfare tactics, and quickly found herself gravitating towards a different path. Transitioning to Naval Public Affairs, Julie quickly found herself advising senior officers, leading junior sailors, developing strategic communications and more.
Today, as Officer in Charge of Naval Public Affairs Support Element West, she oversees more than 80 officers and sailors and is responsible for preparing these men and women for at sea deployments and to support short notice missions around the world where they are charged with telling the Navy’s story.
