I hope you all had a fabulous summer. The new 2016/2017 San Diego Board of Directors met last month for our Strategy Retreat session, and I am truly excited to be part of this amazing organization. We have both new and returning board members for the upcoming year, as well as representation from a wide variety of industries, experience levels, and disciplines in business communications.
IABC/San Diego is focused on one primary goal: providing the most value to you, our members. IABC has something for everyone in our industry, from lively and varied networking events, international and regional conferences, engaging professional and career development opportunities, and recognition and certification programs that inspire us to be great communicators.
Our upcoming Lunch & Learn: Communicating Change and Winning Employee Support is a great example of the insightful and valuable education opportunities we want to provide. On September 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m, Noland Sundrid, director at ROI Communication, will present “One Toyota: Bringing Three Businesses Together to Become One Toyota.” The presentation highlights ROI Communication’s multi-year employee communication and culture-change program for Toyota Motor North America and includes lessons you can apply at your own organization to win employee support during a major strategy shift, transition or culture change. The event will be held at UCSD Extension and will include lunch. I hope you can join us!
