Change can be difficult. It is also inevitable. The way an organization manages change – be it tactical changes to processes or enterprise-wide business transformation – directly influences the outcome. An effective change management strategy is key to helping an organization overcome challenges and achieving the desired business results.

As communicators, we play pivotal roles in the change management process. And, we frequently are charged with connecting the organizational strategy to the communication plan to support a change project. That means we regularly work with executives charged with leading changes, readying impacted stakeholders, communicating and reinforcing the change.

Those of us who are IABC leaders, also lead, introduce and sponsor changes within our volunteer roles; a minor tweak to chapter offerings or massive financial recovery.

Join IABC Pacific Plains on April 11th from 8 to 11:30 a.m. for “The Gale-Force Winds of Change,” featuring a presentation by Organizational Change Expert Annette Martell.  We’ll be furrowing our brows, rolling up our sleeves and pondering potential roles as we learn more about how:

  • Business leaders expect communicators to help them effectively lead, manage & support change projects
  • The discipline and practice of change management plays out in reality
  • Strategic planning, communication planning and change management are strongly linked
  • To play reliable and trusted roles within this emerging discipline
  • Senior executives consider change core to their leadership success
  • Rich resources are right at your fingertips

Successful leaders ride on the prevailing winds of mergers, financial restructurings, market expansions, new technologies, launching products, reassigning roles. Learn how we can read the winds of change and breeze ahead to our seat as change leaders and counselors.
