Message From Our Co-Presidents

Congratulations to IABC/San Diego's 10th Communicator Of The Year (COTY) Emilie Vicchio and first Junior COTY Lauren Karwel!

This past Wednesday we celebrated both of our awardees during an evening of networking, food, and laughter. Both Lauren and Emilie inspired us with their stories of being thrown into the deep end, challenging themselves to do work they initially didn’t know how to do, and being comfortable with being uncomfortable because that’s when they grew. Thanks to all of those who were able to spend the evening with us.

There are more amazing events being planned through the end of this IABC fiscal year (June) and many ways to get involved. If you’re looking to grow yourself as a communication leader or to give back to the profession, consider:

If you want to volunteer but aren’t quite ready to commit to a board role yet, reach out! We have many amazing opportunities, one of which is sure to fit your talents or development goals.

In June, we’re planning a LGBTQ+ networking event and in July, a Padres game and an end of year celebration. We also hope to sneak in one more virtual educational event before July. Be on the lookout for details!
