Spring is in the air!
While it might be a bit early to suggest we have spring weather, we’ve had glimpses of it and know it’s right around the corner. With spring comes new opportunities – warm weather, blossoming flowers, and shorts with sandals. For IABC, it means a lineup of exciting professional development and networking events.
As we do each month, we encourage you to take advantage of your membership (or join if you’re not currently active!) and participate in the many offerings available to you. What you get out of your membership is based on how you choose to participate.
One of the most helpful membership benefits is the vast array of knowledge and information available to you. While many of us enjoy our monthly networking and professional development events, IABC has several online resources for you to explore. Each of these tools offers workshops, webinars, podcasts, and publications for self-guided learning.
IABC Academy
The IABC Academy provides online professional development to help advance your career and generate real business results for your organization. The online workshops offer in-depth learning from leading experts in their field to build your critical skills and knowledge via live, on-demand, and self-paced offerings. Here you can find instruction that supports problem-solving and enhances career growth, now and into the future. Visit the IABC Academy.
IABC Advance
IABC Advance offers a place to learn, connect and advance your professional knowledge and acumen with online workshops, World Conference recordings, webinar recordings, and more. You can earn credits toward your SCMP® or CMP® certifications. Access IABC Advance.
The Hub
The greatest benefit of IABC membership is its access to communicators across the globe. The Hub is an open discussion board to connect and share knowledge with other industry experts to help guide your career, answer your questions, and provide guidance to other communicators like you. Access The Hub.
IABC Catalyst
IABC Catalyst is the official podcast and article resource of IABC. Access is open to both members and non-members, the online publication includes articles and podcasts to help you navigate your career, understand business acumen, and explore innovations happening in our industry. Access IABC Catalyst.
Thank you, again, for your continued membership and participation in IABC. If you have questions or suggestions, we’d love to chat with you!

Renewing Members
It's membership month and a great time to renew your membership or join IABC. Contact Alison Ricker for more information.
Volunteering with IABC is a great way to give back to your IABC chapter while also growing as a communicator and strengthening relationships with other local professionals. No matter your availability and interest level there’s always a role for you.
As we near the end of the IABC fiscal year and think about the 2023/24 year, there are a number of opportunities to consider:
IABC San Diego Board Member: July 2023 starts the new board and fiscal year. The one-year term VP roles (board members) and smaller support roles (non-board members) help ensure that our chapter runs smoothly, has engaging events for members, and that we communicate not only the benefits of membership but also entice others to join us. If you’re curious about the opportunities, email Brandee or Rob.
IABC San Diego Volunteer: The board appreciates the additional hands of those who step into roles to support the broader chapter goals. In particular, those who have an interest or passion for helping grow our membership, communicating our events, and supporting event creation and execution are welcome. Volunteers in most capacities are members of committees that support the board Vice Presidents. If you’re curious about ways to be involved, contact us.
IABC Pacific Plains Region: The Pacific Plains Region nominations process is open for nearly all Regional Board Roles. The roles range in responsibility and length of service and require a commitment to not only serve the broader region (the largest in IABC), but also a commitment to ensure our Region has a voice and representation at the IABC international level. Learn more about the roles and lengths of service. Questions can be directed to Rob.
