IABC San Diego,
Summer is almost here and that means we are quickly approaching the end of our first board term which runs July to June. Where did the time go?
As we head into the last month of this term, we’re excited about what the chapter accomplished. It’s been a whirlwind 10 months (we started in September) and, although there are a few things outstanding, we are appreciative of the current board members and their contributions to our mutual success:
We’ve had so much fun connecting with many of you over the course of this year - seeing familiar faces and meeting new comms professionals. Our chapter has two events lined up for the summer and we hope you can join us for both! See below for more details!
Lastly, our chapter has official business to conduct with a new board to elect (coming soon in a separate email). Also, please take a moment to review the revised IABC San Diego chapter by-laws available here that the Board has updated over the course of several years. You will be asked to vote on them in June along with upcoming IABC International policy and operational changes. As we have more information, we will share it for review and consideration prior to voting.
See you soon!

Thank you for renewing:
IABC San Diego’s pride event at InsideOut: Help celebrate Pride Month and unofficially kick off San Diego Pride at InsideOut on Tuesday, June 27, 5-8 PM. This networking-style event is hosted in one of San Diego’s hottest new restaurants/bars and will be in full Pride decor when we gather on Tuesday, June 27. Please confirm your attendance, including a $5 contribution to appetizers for all to enjoy.
IABC San Diego’s Padres Game Outing: We told you it was COMING SOON, and it is! Please stay tuned for a not-to-be-missed event as Mike Godfrey, one of our resident Padres superfans, gathers more info about our day at the park. You will receive an email with the date and time, individual pricing and other details soon.
Please get familiar with changes for an upcoming vote!
In case you missed it in the President’s Message above, our chapter board has worked hard the last few years to update our by-laws. By-laws are the foundation of any non-profit organization and outline the structure as well as provide some policy guidelines for how the organization runs.
As you look through the by-laws (in a Read Only version) you will see notes made that provide clarity or explanation for the changes. If you have any concerns or questions, please email Rob directly. Questions will be compiled and answered during our chapter vote in late June.
