Are you a member of a nonprofit board of directors? Perhaps you aspire to join a board and serve your community?

Join IABC/San Diego as we host Katharine Ann Campbell, Certified Board Trainer, for an in-depth look at the foundational and operational components of a nonprofit board of directors. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is serving, aspiring to serve, or exploring what it means to serve on a nonprofit board of directors.

In this half-day workshop, you’ll hear about and have small group discussions around questions including:

• What are transferable skills that could serve you well as a board member or volunteer?
• What are functional roles and committee best practices for success?
• What is the board’s and your personal legal obligations to the IRS, the community, and the organization’s membership?
• Where is your organization in the life cycle process? Is it new, thriving, or dying?
• If your organization is near dying, what can you do about it?
  

This is a great opportunity to meet other San Diego-based nonprofit board members, learn from their experience, and build your skills and knowledge. All are welcome! Consider bringing those who might be aspiring board members to build their understanding before joining your organization.

*Although this is an in-person event only, the workshop will be recorded. The recording will be made available on a pay-per-basis, depending upon your organization's size.
